Job description

Join to apply for the Food Service Worker Substitute role at Cave Creek Unified School District.

Supports district schools and principals in fostering an optimal educational environment for students. Responsible for collecting money, keeping records of students' lunch funds, and assisting with food preparation and clean-up.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collecting money & checks before and during lunch service hours.
  2. Operating the Meal Tracker (POS) System.
  3. Maintaining accurate financial records verified by the Kitchen Manager.
  4. Preparing checks, cash, and coins for deposit following departmental guidelines.
  5. Managing records of student charges and collecting payments.
  6. Informing the Kitchen Manager of delinquent accounts and sending payment reminders. Assisting with calls to parents as needed.
  7. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  8. Assisting in cleaning the kitchen, dishes, and food contact surfaces following HACCP procedures and health codes.
  9. Preparing and setting up salad bar items and other duties as directed.
  10. Ensuring all Free & Reduced forms are complete.
  11. Verifying meal tray components meet NSLP guidelines.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Arizona Food Service Worker Card.
  • Previous cashiering experience.
  • One year of financial record-keeping experience.
  • Ability to work with students and follow instructions.
  • Ability to cooperate with other Child Nutrition employees.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, talk, hear, lift up to 50 pounds, and have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment: Indoor setting with mild to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available.
