Job summary

CAPSLO in California is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to assist in a central kitchen. The role involves food preparation, cleaning, delivery, and support to the food service program.

You will work with a CAPSLO vehicle to deliver meals, help with setup for classes, and ensure safety and sanitation across all duties. Valid CA driver's license and insurance are preferred; prior institutional food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial or institutional food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean during production and service; maintain clean, sanitized surfaces and dishware.
• Set up meal service for classes.
• Load food containers into delivery vehicle and unload empties.
• Deliver meals from a central kitchen using CAPSLO vehicle.
• Assist with washing, peeling and cutting of produce; mix and stir prepared foods.
• Support CAPSLO goals and follow safety policies to protect staff and clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Food Service Worker. This position involves a variety of tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, shopping, delivery, and more. By ensuring the smooth operation of our food service program, you'll play a vital role in supporting CAPSLO's mission and helping individuals and families in need.

What you bring to the table:

• Has experience working in commercial or institutional food service (preferred).


• Has a valid California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.

As a Food Service Worker, you will:

• Clean during production and following meal service, i.e., keep equipment, appliances, work surfaces and area clean and sanitized, wash dishes, pots and pans, sweep and mop, load and unload dishwasher.


• Set up meal service for classes.


• Load food transport containers into delivery vehicle, unloads empty containers.


• Deliver meals from a central kitchen using a CAPSLO vehicle.


• Assist with pre-preparation of food requiring washing, peeling and cutting of fruits and vegetables, mix and stir prepared foods.


• Be dedicated to the goals and objectives of CAPSLO.


• Use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices, and act in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients and children.


• Perform other duties as assigned.
