Job summary

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Worker to support our food service program. The role includes food preparation, cleaning, shopping, and delivery to assist individuals and families in need.

The ideal candidate has delivery experience and a valid California license. You will set up meal service, load/unload containers, and ensure safety throughout operations, while adhering to CAPSLO’s mission and policies.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Experience delivering and driving a van is preferred.
• Commitment to safety and proper handling of meals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean during production and after meal service; sanitize equipment and surfaces.
• Set up meal service for classes.
• Load food transport containers into delivery vehicle and unload.
• Deliver meals from a central kitchen using CAPSLO vehicle.
• Assist with pre-preparation of fruits and vegetables and mixing prepared foods.
• Adhere to safety rules and uphold CAPSLO’s mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Food Service Worker. This position involves a variety of tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, shopping, delivery, and more. By ensuring the smooth operation of our food service program, you'll play a vital role in supporting CAPSLO's mission and helping individuals and families in need.

What you bring to the table:

• Previous experience making deliveries and driving a van is preferred.
• Has a valid California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.

As a Food Service Worker, you will:

• Clean during production and following meal service, i.e., keep equipment, appliances, work surfaces and area clean and sanitized, wash dishes, pots and pans, sweep and mop, load and unload dishwasher.
• Set up meal service for classes.
• Load food transport containers into delivery vehicle, unloads empty containers.
• Deliver meals from a central kitchen using a CAPSLO vehicle.
• Assist with pre-preparation of food requiring washing, peeling and cutting of fruits and vegetables, mix and stir prepared foods.
• Be dedicated to the goals and objectives of CAPSLO.
• Use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices, and act in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients and children.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
