Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a cafeteria services associate to support daily meal service and customer interactions at our facility. You will assist with food preparation, stock management, and serving hot meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.

A focus on safety, cleanliness, and knowledge of ingredients is required. Experience with FIFO stocking and strong interpersonal skills will help you excel in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes personal and patient safety.
• Supports RBC unit action plans and RBC principles.
• Provides courteous customer service/interpersonal interactions at all times.
• Stocks cafeteria supplies using FIFO and monitors stock levels for food and beverages.
• Serves and replenishes hot foods, monitors temperatures and quality across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment.
• Answers questions about food, ingredients, and special needs; offers product knowledge and upselling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

A Day in the Life

• Promotes personal and patient safety.
• Has basic understanding of Relationship-Based Care (RBC) principles, meets expectations outlined in Commitment To My Co-workers, and supports RBC unit action plans.
• Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
• Sets up and stocks cafeteria using FIFO, monitors quality of food & assure enough food & paper stock available. Responsible for brewing coffee, and keeping a good stock of beverages.
• Serves & replenishes hot food in cafeteria, including monitoring temperatures and quality of food. Areas include breakfast, lunch & dinner service.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment.
• Interacts with customers/patients throughout the day/evening. Helps answer questions about food, ingredients & special needs.
• Knowledgably about the food they are serving, including suggestive selling
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
