Job description

1. Assists in the food preparation and food service to hospital patients, residents, personnel, Meals-On-Wheels recipients and guests.

• Prepares appetizing food by methods that conserve nutritional value.
• Serves patients according to modified diets listed by dietician or Manager.
• Assists with dishwashing.
• Serves meals to patients, employees and guests in a timely manner.
• Sanitizes work areas, cleans refrigerators and ovens as assigned.
• Sweeps and scrubs floors as assigned.
• Utilizes food in an economical fashion.
• Follows Infection Control policies pertaining to the Dietary Department.
• Knowledge of diet planning and ability to guide menu choices within the scope of those restrictions and the basic Food Pyramid.

2. Performs other duties as assigned.
