Job description

JOB SUMMARY

This is hourly paid work performing and assisting with food service duties. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for food services and motivation for advancement to fill a food service worker position. This is a part-time position, requiring less than 30 hours per week, and is not eligible for benefits. Note: This position involves working 29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Learn to prepare, heat, and finish cooking food items and serve customers under direct supervision.
• Receive and disburse money in a food service establishment.
• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances.
• Assist with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections.
• Receive payment for food items.
• Replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Unpack and store supplies, raw and prepared food products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary skills to perform the job successfully.
