Job Duties
  • Assembles prepared food on trays for general and therapeutic diets; prepares special therapeutic nourishments and snacks (e.g., slices fruits, mixes pre-packaged liquid nourishments).
  • Maintains tray line in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
  • Delivers food trucks to patient floors as specified; returns trucks to dishroom at designated times.
  • Tends and loads dish machines in patient and employee dishrooms; may wash certain items, such as pots and pans, by hand.
  • Delivers clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen unit.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, walk-in storage areas, refrigerators. Cleans and sanitizes equipment, disassembling and re-assembling as required; mops floors and performs special cleaning duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Transports food and supplies in bulk from location to location.
  • Collects, processes, and disposes of trash and garbage as needed and directed.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations. Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct. Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.

OTHER JOB DUTIES
  • May serve food in a variety of settings such as patient rooms, patient dining rooms, cafeteria, catered functions.
  • As required, maintains simple tallies and logs (e.g., time of delivery, food temperatures on delivery).
  • Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
BASIC COMPETENCIES
  • Education: 2 years of High School preferred.
  • Experience: 6 months previous food service experience preferred.
  • Skills: Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
JOB SETTING/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Patient floors, cafeteria, kitchens.
  • Exposed to heat, wetness, odors in kitchen and/or patient areas.
  • Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements such as steam, electricity, sharp knives and cutting equipment.
  • Moderate physical effort lifting light to heavy objects and pushing carts.
  • Frequent prolonged standing/walking.

Salary commensurate with experience within posted range. $17.51 PER HR/DIFFERENTIALS $1.00 EVE NIGHT & WEEKEND
