Powell Valley Healthcare in Powell, Wyoming is hiring a Food Services Worker to support long term care residents, hospital patients and staff with meals and related services.

Under supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, you will assist cooks, prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, and help train new staff. Both full-time and part-time openings are available with a focus on reliable attendance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Duties include working with a diverse population in a hospital kitchen setting.
• Ability to read simple menus and prep lists to follow instructions.
• Communicate politely with patients, staff and callers.
• Perform basic arithmetic for portions and records.
• Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
• Use common sense to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and co-workers in preparing, serving and delivering meals and beverages to hospital and long term care residents and staff.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, silverware and cooking equipment per sanitation guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and carts per sanitation guidelines.
• Complete all cleaning assignments.
• Portion food according to menu standards when serving meals.
• Provide excellent customer service by handling calls and assisting others positively.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Take and record food and equipment temperatures and take corrective action when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Current Opening: (1) One Full-Time and (1) Part-Time positions.

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, and in compliance with Federal, State regulations, and Powell Valley Healthcare (PVHC) policy and procedure, the Food Services Worker will provide food services and related services to long term care residents, hospital patients and staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist cooks and co-workers in preparing, serving and delivering meals and beverages to hospital and long term care residents as well as staff
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, silverware and cooking equipment adhering to sanitation guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and carts in accordance with sanitation guidelines
• Complete all cleaning assignments
• Portion food according to menu standards when serving food and beverages
• Provide excellent customer service by answering phones in a timely, polite manner and assisting others in a gracious, positive way
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
• Maintain confidentiality
• Assist in training new employees
• Take and record food and equipment temperatures and taking corrective action when necessary
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Work closely with a diverse population remaining calm, respectful and helpful
• Read and interpret simple instructions and documents such as menus, diet cards, diet sheets, patient menus, preparation lists and policy manuals
• Respond appropriately to requests from customers, to read, write and speak effectively

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
