Food Service Worker - Naval Medical Center Portsmouth - Part-Time - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a part-time Food Service Worker to perform janitorial tasks and dishwashing. Assists with preparing food. The work schedule includes some weekends and holidays.

Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid REAL ID - compliant driver's license or identification card, or be able to obtain one before employment, as it is required for access to secure military installations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Physical demands: Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee:

• Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form
• Must be able to exert considerable effort, frequently lifting/moving up to 50lbs, bending, reaching, and squatting
• Must be able to stand for four or more hours

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a commercial kitchen with potential exposure to hazards typical to this environment. The noise level in the work environment is loud with frequent interruptions.
