This position is with the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Watervliet Arsenal, New York. FMWR supports Soldier readiness, resiliency, and well-being through services such as Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services.

Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $20.91/hr

Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks following established procedures in kitchen or dining areas.
  • Set up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining tables, and side service stands with food and beverages; replenish as needed.
  • Operate, break down, and clean all food preparation equipment.
  • Serve food by order and proper portion.
  • Separate food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware.
Requirements
  • Direct deposit and Social Security Card required.
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements.
  • Complete employment verification (E-Verify) and pre-employment physical examination.
  • Pass a T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend; work on ladders and use cleaning equipment.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Thursday, off every other Friday (RDO).
  • Complete food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate simple machines.
  • Perform procedures with focus despite interruptions.
  • Knowledge of basic food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for food portioning and service calculations.
