Job description

This position is located at Eisenhower Hall.

Duties
  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
  • Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, breads, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
  • Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters. Stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware. Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Medical examination is required; Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees whether fulltime or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
  • This position is eligible to receive gratuities (tips) based on the type of event(s) and performance.

Qualifications

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
