Base Pay Range

$24,448.00/year

Career Progression

Depending on your food service experience, you may start at any of the following levels. DJJ offers a career progression plan that includes promotions and pay raises:

• Food Service Worker 1: $24,448/year (promotion to Food Service Worker 2 after 6 months)
• Food Service Worker 2: $25,592/year (promotion to Food Service Worker 3 after 12 months)
• Food Service Worker 3: $26,736/year

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, learns to prepare, heat, finish cooking food items, and serve customers. Learns to handle money in a food service setting. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.

Job Specific Duties

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
• Prepare food using manual and electric appliances
• Assist with food supply requisitions and sanitation inspections
• Receive payment for food items
• Replenish supplies at steam tables and service bars
• Store food properly to prevent spoilage
• Unpack and store supplies and food products
