Job Overview

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our food service team as entry-level Food Service Workers at the Reception and Treatment Center or the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $16.579 - $24.440, plus $3/hour facility differential
• 13 paid holidays

Responsibilities

• Train and manage inmates in food preparation and service

• Work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and double shifts

Qualifications

• Experience or training in food preparation, baking, or kitchen operations
• Preferred: ServSafe or Food Handlers certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Pass pre-employment exams: medical, drug test, and successful completion of corrections training
