The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a part-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Food Service Worker.

Proposed Schedule Includes: 10:30am - 7:15pm shifts, varying weekends (additional $2.00/hour)

  • Summary:
    To assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu plan and established safety standards.

Your Experience Counts
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    Education: Completion of an eighth-grade education or its equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
    Experience: Six months experience as a waiter, waitress, dining room attendant, or food service worker.
    License/Certification: None required.
    Special Requirements: Must possess clean personal health and sanitation habits.
    Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of serving techniques, dining room cleaning procedures, ability to supervise, and maintaining appearance appropriate to duties.

    Participates in meal preparation and setup, serves residents, cleans dining areas, operates kitchen equipment, stocks work areas, assists in food preparation, trains new employees, and performs cleaning and tray procedures as directed.
