Job summary

Huntington Hospital is seeking a Food Service Worker III Per Diem in the Dietary department. The role supports nutrition care activities in patient and non-patient areas at 100 W California Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105. This position is part-time with dayshift and a base pay range described below.

Per diems may be eligible for incentives and benefits as part of the total rewards package. The ideal candidate will have high school completion or equivalent, experience in food service or cash handling,

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• High school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Prefer prior food service training or experience in operating cash register and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate hospital computer system and other equipment as assigned accurately per duty list/department standards.
• Clean and sanitize according to department standards.
• Participate in department and hospital performance improvement activities and meetings.
• Attend required in-services and comply with all hospital/department policies and procedures, including food safety standards.

Expectations

The job is responsible for nutrition care activities in patient and non-patient care areas. The person must be able to function independently with limited supervision, able to provide customer service and provide appropriate communication and follow up to ensure all customer expectations were met. The personal must be able to but not limited to operate hospital computer system and other equipment as assigned accurately per duty list/department standards, cleaning and sanitizing per department standards, participate in the department and hospital performance improvement activities, participate in team and/or department meetings, attend required/mandatory in-services, comply with hospital/department policies and procedures including all food safety regulatory standards, and performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent experience preferred

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Prefer prior food service training or experience in operating cash register and computer skills.

SKILLS

Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
