Job summary

Progress West Hospital is seeking a dedicated food service worker to provide quality service to cafeteria customers. You will prepare foods, portion meals, and maintain clean, organized service areas while adhering to safety standards.

Minimum 2 years in food service is required. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. This is a full-time, on-site role with weekend availability and daily shifts spanning early morning to evening.

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.

Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.

Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

To provide quality food service to cafeteria customers to provide speed of service and customer courtesy. To perform a variety of food service functions such as preparation of food, setting up of service areas with food, utensils, and garnishments, food portioning, serving, sanitation, and assisting with customer request.

Responsibilities
  • Provides customer service in a professional and friendly manner, and follows food safety and portion guidelines.
  • Ensures work area is set up and supplies and products are organized before, during and after shift.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work station and utensils.
  • Uses equipment and materials properly and safely.
  • Accurately assembles meals according to the menu, diet order and correct protocol.
