Job Overview

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Food Service Worker II uses excellent customer service skills, establishes, and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.

Qualifications

Required:

• Knowledge of food preparation
• Ability to work under stress in all situations and handle stressful situations
• Understanding and caring attitude toward the sick
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervision, managers, and other departments
• Knowledge of food production/storage or computer skills; good interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of touchscreen technology
• Ability to assist with patient meal selection

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years hospital food service experience
• CPR and First Aid certification

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift: Evening
• Time: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Status: Part-Time (18.75 hrs)
• Note: May require working every other weekend depending on department needs

Essential Functions

• Assists in tray setup
• Processes and disposes of trash, performs cleaning duties
• Delivers meals, assists patients, cleans food carriers, and transports food
• Follows work assignments, maintains cleanliness, operates cash register, and handles cash reconciliation
• Performs cleaning duties, sets up menu boards, replenishes supplies, and maintains work areas
