Job summary

The University of Michigan's Michigan Dining is hosting Food Service Worker I roles in the Residential department. Assignments are created through a seniority-based bidding process to ensure year-round coverage and flexibility across units.

Employees follow standardized recipes, set up work stations, assist cooks, trim meats and cheeses, and maintain HACCP-compliant cleanliness in a fast-paced campus setting, with onsite full-time status and competitive hourly wages.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English and ability to interpret instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends & holidays.
• Ability to understand and implement OSEH and HACCP physical and food safety standards and use resources responsibly, and recognize and minimize waste.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes in back-of-house production kitchen or front-of-house station.
• Set up assigned work station including receiving and storage of supplies.
• Assist cooks and bakers by performing routine food preparation tasks.
• Trim and slice cooked meats and cheeses; process raw vegetables and fruits.
• Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with HACCP and health codes.
