Job Description

The Food Service Worker I completes assigned functions within the department, providing excellent customer service, operating and maintaining dietary food equipment. Through interactions with customers, physicians, nursing, and visitors, you will provide efficient, courteous, and accurate service. Performs a variety of routine duties in sanitation within the Food Service Department.

What You'll Do

• Perform customer, food, and sanitation activities, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Develop and maintain excellent communication skills with patients, customers, and coworkers. Respond promptly to issues and concerns.
• Assess customer needs and deliver products accordingly, based on surveys and interviews.
• Record food temperatures during meal hours and take corrective actions when standards are not met.
• Maintain personal hygiene and proper uniform standards.
• Complete all cleaning and sanitizing duties daily.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area at all times.
• Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements.
• Perform cleaning tasks as scheduled.
• Handle equipment maintenance and supplies responsibly.
• Train new employees in work procedures.
• Clean and stock the work area before shift end.
• Control waste and use resources efficiently.
• Maintain stock levels on assigned floors and call rooms.
• Provide excellent customer service, greeting patients and visitors courteously.
• Resolve customer complaints politely and effectively.
• Show respect to coworkers and participate in Relationship Based Care and department Practice Council.

Education/Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Previous Food Service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Medium Work - exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
• Balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, visual acuity.
• Typing, seeing/monitoring, talking.
• Constant walking.

Hazards

• Occasional exposure to bodily fluids/bloodborne pathogens, burns, chemicals.

Working Conditions

• Occasional noise, wet/humid environments, odors.

Travel

• May require occasional travel.

Pay Range

Minimum: USD $16.65/hr; Maximum: USD $24.97/hr.
