Job Summary
Prepares, presents, and serves food as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator while following safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas according to wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of prior food service or food prep experience.
- Full‑time schedule; days and hours may vary.
- Location: 1 College Avenue, Wise, VA 24293 (University of Virginia).
Compensation
Pay Range: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
