Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in Wise, VA is seeking a full-time food service worker to prepare, present, and serve food according to recipes and safety standards.

The role requires at least 1 year of food service or prep experience. You will perform prep work, portion control, dishwashing, and customer service while maintaining sanitation and inventory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and serve food as needed.
• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator while following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas according to wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Full‑time schedule; days and hours may vary.
• Location: 1 College Avenue, Wise, VA 24293 (University of Virginia).

Compensation

Pay Range: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
