We are hiring immediately for a full-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER position.

Location: Van Andel Institute - 333 Bostwick Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares, presents, and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, proper serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
