Position Summary
The Food Service Worker is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal service, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.
Assists the cook in meal preparation and service, ensuring scheduled meal times are met and policies are followed to provide residents with high-quality service.
Essential Job Functions
Assist the cook/supervisor with food preparation and service, following specific procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
Deliver residents’ meal carts, set up and clean dining areas, and serve residents.
Record refrigerator temperatures accurately; clean and stock as needed.
Wash and store dishes, maintaining sanitation and kitchen cleanliness.
Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Preferred 1 year of food service experience.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels within the community.
Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their unique needs.
Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
ServSafe certification is desirable.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or GED.
Core Competencies
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent customer service skills, team player.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information
Shift options: 6AM-2PM or 10:30AM-7:00PM, including weekends. Hourly wage: $16.11 - $18.00.
