Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring for a full-time Food Service Worker at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The role involves preparing, presenting and serving food, with schedules Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–6:00 pm or 1:00 pm–9:00 pm, at 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD 21250.

Previous food service experience is preferred, and training is available. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $16.23 per hour along with standard benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve food as needed.
• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure ingredients.
• Transport food to and from stations safely.
• Store food with proper dating and rotation.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Ensure proper portion control and serving temperatures.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay to supervisor.
• Follow sanitation, safety, and inventory procedures.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
