Job summary

Oregon Health Authority in Salem, Oregon is seeking a Food Service Worker to perform a range of dining services in a state facility. The role supports meal service, tray preparation, and dishwashing, with emphasis on meeting dietary needs and portion controls.

This is a full-time, on-site position in the float pool with rotating hours Monday through Friday. Candidates must meet minimum food service experience and obtain required certifications quickly after appointment.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in customer or food service.
• Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of appointment OR completion of Marion County Advanced Food Management Principles and Concepts Training, including HACCP Certification.
• Must always be current & certified in safe hood handling certifications.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Set up condiments and pan food, portion food, prepare food trays, and serve on food lines.
• Clear and clean dining and serving areas, put away stock and kitchenettes.
• Wash dishes, pots, and pans in a volume dining or food service facility.
• Monitor and review prescribed dietary orders and adhere to portion control guidelines.
• Work hours vary; this position is in the float pool and may include changes in shift.
• Ensure dietary needs of clients, patients, students, and inmates are met.
