FOOD SERVICE WORKER - EXTRA HELP ON-CALL

Position Summary

The Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Facility is seeking an individual to provide on-call food services support. This entry-level role involves food preparation and service for individuals in a secured facility, including cooking, baking, meal setup, serving, and cleaning under high sanitation and safety standards.

Ideal Candidate Skills

Knowledge of large-scale or institutional cooking methods, sanitation and safety procedures, basic math skills, and culinary organization are preferred.

Qualifications
  • Six months of food prep experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large-scale or institutional food service, a Food Science degree, Safe Serve certification, or high-standard kitchen cleaning experience.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Food handler's permit, First Aid, CPR, TB test, Bloodborne/Airborne Pathogens training, Hepatitis B vaccination or waiver.
Background Check

Physical and Working Conditions

Work in a secured kitchen environment, requiring physical strength, coordination, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. May involve contact with detainees and exposure to sanitation chemicals.
