We are hiring immediately for a FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER position.

Address: 1000 Fulton Avenue, Hempstead, NY 11550. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Part Time, Monday to Friday: AM shifts available! More details upon interview!

Requirement: Previous experience preferred.

Pay Range: $16.50 per hour to $17.25 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Performs cashiering duties, including general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service, and dining room facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
  2. Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
  3. Stores foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
  4. Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  5. Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
  6. Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
  7. Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
  8. Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  9. Relays relevant information to supervisor.
  10. Performs sales transactions.
  11. Enters sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
  12. Makes change, accepts declining balance cards, and other acceptable forms of payment.
  13. Issues receipts to customers.
  14. Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
  15. Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
  16. Replenishes condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
