Job Opportunity: Food Service Worker / Cashier

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER / CASHIER positions at the Affton School District, located at 8701 Mackenzie Road, St Louis, MO 63123. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 1:30 pm. Additional details will be provided upon interview.

Requirements: Prior culinary and customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $14.75 to $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Performs cashiering duties and general food service work, maintaining sanitation standards in food prep, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables, including washing, peeling, and measuring ingredients.
  • Transport food and supplies safely between stations.
  • Store foods properly, following safety and rotation procedures.
  • Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
  • Follow recipes and standards for quality and portion control.
  • Serve customers courteously and efficiently, resolving complaints professionally.
  • Relay information to supervisors.
  • Operate cash registers accurately, handle payments, and issue receipts.
  • Manage cash drawers and ensure compliance with cash handling standards.
  • Replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness of service areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
