Job Title: Food Service Worker

Department: Food and Nutrition – Cafe
Entity: Pennsylvania Hospital, 800 Spruce Street
Hours/Shift: Full time, Days

We are seeking passionate individuals to provide outstanding food service in both inpatient and retail settings. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
Food Handling:
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold food to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Maintain food according to HACCP procedures, including dating and labeling.
  • Handle food and equipment properly to ensure safety and infection control.
Maintaining a Clean and Organized Environment:
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and sanitary.
  • Clean equipment and surfaces using appropriate methods.
  • Sanitize service ware, pots, walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Manage supplies efficiently and maintain proper stock rotation.
Retail and Customer Service:
  • Meet individual needs of patients and customers with friendliness and professionalism.
  • Manage transactions accurately and responsibly.
Compliance:
  • Follow health codes, Joint Commission regulations, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Practice personal hygiene and report issues promptly.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years food service experience preferred.
