Job summary

Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) NBK Bremerton is seeking a kitchen/bistro assistant to support Military Quality of Life programs under the CNIC MWR department. The role requires use of simple kitchen equipment, pizza making, and adherence to recipes while ensuring proper food storage and sanitation.

The incumbent will manage inventory levels, relate them to purchasing requirements, and handle cash at the register.

Qualifications

• Food handler certification is required or can be obtained.
• Ability to operate simple kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Experience with bake/holding ovens and pizza makers.
• Ability to relate inventory levels to purchasing needs.
• Experience handling cash and operating a register.
• Follow recipes and prepare pizza, salads and other menu items.

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Recreation, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bremerton.

• Incumbent must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate.
• Must be able to use simple kitchen equipment and use common kitchen utensils.
• Must know the operation of bake, holding ovens and pizza makers.
• Must be able to relate inventory levels to purchasing requirements; and understand food storage and sanitation requirements.
• Must be able to operate a cash register.
• Must be able to follow recipes and combine ingredients for pizza, salads and other menu items.
