About This Position

Part-Time Position

Schedule: Wednesday: As Needed, Thursday: 8am-4pm, Friday: 11am-8pm, Saturday: 8am-4pm

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in food service at a correctional facility. Responsibilities include preparing and serving various food items according to work instructions and menus, using food preparation utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in preparing quality foods per menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment properly
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policies
• Manage garbage and keep kitchen floors clean
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and service
• Review portions and utensil use for service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
