FOOD SERVICE WORKER 1 - ATHLETICS DINING PROGRAM (MULTIPLE ROLES)

Position Overview

This position supports the Don James Center Training Table by performing dishwashing, dining room upkeep, and food preparation to ensure a high-quality dining experience for UW athletes. The role is vital in providing nutritionally optimal meals to athletes and coaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain sanitation and appearance of dish and wash rooms in compliance with health regulations.
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks such as paring fruits and vegetables, reheating soups, assembling sandwiches and salads, toasting bread, and preparing beverages.
  • Set up workstations and display counters according to production sheets and plans.
  • Restock and rotate station items following established food safety policies.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils; clean sinks and ensure supplies are available.
  • Wash and dry uniforms and aprons; clean caddies and carts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and prep areas, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Bus and clean tables and chairs in dining areas.
  • Monitor safety issues and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in supervising student or hourly staff as needed.
Position Details

This is an eleven-and-a-half-month cyclic position working from January to mid-December, with possible reassignment to different units or schedules with two weeks' notice.

Minimum Requirements
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
Conditions of Employment
  • Satisfactory completion of employment verification and reference checks.
  • Valid Washington State Food Worker Card.
