About This Position

$17.00/hour + $1250 new hire bonus

This position is located inside a jail/correctional facility.

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving a variety of food items accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and menus, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Prepare and assist in preparing quality foods per menu, recipes, and work instructions.
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food.
• Serve food according to scheduled meal times and policies.
• Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment correctly, meeting nutritional standards.
• Follow food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform and safety policies.
• Manage garbage and keep the kitchen clean.
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and service.
• Review portions and utensils for accuracy.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• This role involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
