About This Position

$17.00/hour + $1250 new hire bonus

This position is located inside a jail/correctional facility.

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional environment. The role involves accurately and efficiently preparing and serving a variety of food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing various food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare or instruct on the preparation of quality foods according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of all food
• Serve food during scheduled meal times following policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly to prepare and serve food
• Follow all food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Follow uniform policies
• Manage garbage and keep kitchen clean
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and service
• Review portions and utensils for service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 18 years old
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
