Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a part-time Food Service Attendant in the Food and Nutrition Services department to provide quality patient meals and ensure nutrition and safety standards are met. In-person role with weekday shifts and every-other-weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include preparing/serving meals, assembling patient trays, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting with menu selections and patient satisfaction surveys.

• Washes and sanitizes pots/pans/equipment
• Prepares refuse for pickup
• Portions foods/beverages
• Assembles/plates entrees/salads/sandwiches

• Thaws foods from freezer
• Determines standard vs. substandard products

Department: Food and Nutrition Services FTE: 0.5 (40 hours per pay period) Workdays: Weekdays and Every Other Weekend Shift(s): Days, Evenings Shift Length: 8 hours Location: In-Person Purpose of this position: Responsible for providing quality meals to patients using principles of good nutrition and food safety.

• - Prepares menus for serving area in accordance with current diet orders
• - Some positions may perform cashier duties including cash handling and ensuring accuracy of cash drawers, to include receiving and paying out monies and balancing their drawer at the end of a shift

• - High school diploma or GED
• - Some college helpful but not required
• - Three months to one year experience in hospital food service preferred OR - An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
