Job summary

APR Consulting, Inc. seeks a Food Service Worker to support a Ventura County facility. This 13-week assignment offers a $23/hour pay rate, with shifts starting early morning and ending mid-evening, and weekend rotation as needed.

Under supervision, you will prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, follow recipes and safety guidelines, and assist with inventory and delivery tasks. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of food service experience are required, with English

Location: 300 Hillmont Ave Ventura, CA 93003

Position: Food Service Worker

Pay Rate: $23/hr

Duration: 13 Weeks

Expected Shift: 5:30am-2pm and/or 10:45am-7:15pm

Rotating weekends required – based on departmental needs

Required:

• Minimum High school diploma or GED

Summary

Under immediate supervision, incumbent learns and performs a variety of routine duties related to the preparation, service, and delivery of food to clients, patients, staff, large groups, and/or visitors at a Ventura County facility and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of utensils, equipment, and work area.

Examples Of Duties

• Assists with planning, preparing, apportioning, delivering, and serving meals which involves chopping, slicing, mixing, grating, and assembling food items according to standardized recipes, directions, instructions from supervisors, and proper food handling guidelines.
• Stores and inventories food, supplies, and materials per Department and State regulations.
• Assists with sanitation of all equipment, utensils, appliances, and facilities; assists with cleaning dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Assists with operating a variety of kitchen equipment including stand mixer, tilt braiser, tilt steam kettle, electric slicer, steam cabinet, industrial dishwasher, oven, and others.
• May operate a cash register and count and collect money.
• May read, interpret, and/or complete various documents such as medical dietary orders, meal count forms, and logs.
• May provide transportation and delivery of food in emergencies.
• Performs other related duties as required.
