Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen teams in a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals following recipes and menus, and report to a Food Service Director, working on-site inside a jail.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are at least 18, hold a valid driver’s license, and preferably prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to procedures.
• Use recipes and proper utensils to meet nutritional needs and portion sizes.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for extended periods and handle physical demands as required.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required: We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• We require a valid driver's license.
• We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
