Responsibilities

• Serve on the tray assembly line in assigned positions involving starters, servers, soups, desserts, and hot beverages.
• Wash pots and pans and perform heavy cleaning duties as directed.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment, and supplies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment; perform general routine cleaning duties and non-round duties as assigned.
• Collect, process, and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and waste.
• Correctly label and date portioned food products.
• Deliver and pick up patient meal trays according to department policy.
• Maintain established food preparation policies, procedures, standards, and quality expectations.
• Prepare, load, transport, and strip food trucks; scrape plates and pre-soak silverware.
• Communicate patient questions or concerns to the Diet Office and notify nursing staff when assistance is needed.

As a Food Service Worker, a typical day might include the following:

This is a part-time position requiring flexibility to work variable shifts such as 3:45pm-8:00pm, and 11:00am-8:00pm. Weekend and holiday availability is required to help ensure outstanding food service and patient care every day of the year.
