Job summary

Avera Mother Joseph Manor Retirement Community in Sioux Center, IA is seeking a part-time food service helper for evening shifts. You will assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup for patients and staff while following dietary requirements.

Shifts run 4:15pm-7:30pm with rotating weekends/holidays; responsibilities include stocking, sanitation, and occasional cash register duties. Join a compassionate, team-driven kitchen environment that supports patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize assigned food items efficiently and accurately for patients and other customers.
• Serve food items in accordance with diet, specifications and menu requirements.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, dishes, pots/pans, floors and work areas.
• Stocks storerooms, refrigerators and work areas with supplies using FIFO and dating.
• Operates dish machine and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• May work the register, close out register and counts money; handle money and drawer properly.

A Brief Overview

Helps provide quality customer meals through snack and meal assembly, service, and cleanup. Assist with meal service activities.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and organize assigned food items efficiently and accurately for patients and other customers.
• Serve food items in accordance with diet, specifications and menu requirements.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, dishes, pots/pans, floor mats, floors, and work areas following proper procedure.
• Stocks storerooms, refrigerators and work areas with supplies using first in, first out principle and appropriate dating.
• Operates dish machine and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• May work the register, close out register and counts money. Properly places money and money drawer in designated location.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent
• One to six months of food service experience
