Hours: 10 months, 6-7 hours per day, 182 annual days

Contract Unit: Non-supervisory support services bargaining unit

FLSA: Non-exempt

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful completion of Serv-Safe Sanitation Class
• SNA (School Nutrition Association) certification or working toward certification
• Completion of USDA Professional Development Standards for Food Service Professional
• Knowledge of large-scale food preparation and service materials and methods
• Knowledge of food preparation equipment care and use
• Skill in using kitchen utensils and equipment
• Ability to interpret safety rules, food instructions, and menus
• Knowledge of health and sanitation regulations
• Ability to establish effective working relationships

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals to students
• Cook and serve nutritious foods per menu and a la carte options
• Wash equipment and utensils
• Operate food service machinery
• Receive, stock, and maintain food supplies and sanitation
• Serve as cashier and monitor serving lines
• Follow safety and sanitation standards
• Prepare and store food and equipment
• Assist with catering services for staff and faculty as needed
• Attend training sessions
• Perform related duties as required
