JOB SUMMARY:
Performs responsible semi-skilled work in preparing and serving institutional meals and cleaningcafeterias; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision ofthe Food Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving meats, breads, vegetables and other foods on a large scale; general knowledge of the use or care of foodpreparation equipment; general knowledge of food values and nutrition; general knowledge of U.S.D.A. rules and regulations; skill in the use of standardized and specialized kitchen utensilsand equipment; ability to get along well with others; ability to work long hours while standing andunder high temperature conditions.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required use of measuring devices, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the worker is subject to extreme heat, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of ahigh school diploma andsome experience in food preparation in large quantities. High school graduate or equivalent desirable.
