Trinity Services Group is hiring a Food Service Supervisor at the Caldwell County Jail in Lenoir, NC, earning $16.00 per hour on-site. You will manage inmate labor and kitchen staff, process meals according to planned schedules, and use utensils and equipment to prepare food while following recipes and menus to meet nutritional needs.

You report to a Food Service Director and work on-site inside a correctional facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or GED and 21 years or older.
• Experience in institutional food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

About This Position

This position is working at the Caldwell County Jail in Lenoir, NC, paying $16.00/hour.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 21 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
