Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a PRN Food Service Worker for Day Shift to support patient meals and dining activities. The role focuses on meal preparation, assembly, service, and cleanup to ensure accurate portions and dietary compliance.

Essential tasks include stocking, sanitizing, operating dish equipment, and occasional register duties. The position requires flexibility to meet shift hours and contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize assigned food items efficiently and accurately for patients and other customers.
• Serve food items in accordance with diet, specifications and menu requirements.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, dishes, pots/pans, floor mats, floors, and work areas following proper procedure.
• Stock storerooms, refrigerators and work areas with supplies using FIFO and dating.
• Operate dish machine and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. May work the register and handle money.
