Summary

Position located at Veterans Memorial Golf Course, Buckley’s, Food and Beverage Division, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. The role combines bartender and food service worker responsibilities in a single position.

Responsibilities

• 40% 1. Prepare a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish. Serve patrons at counter or table service. Receive payment, operate a cash register, and make and return change to patrons or waiter. Work from drink recipes and be strictly responsible for pre‑measuring drinks to meet all retail accountability requirements.
• 35% 2. Prepare a variety of sandwich‑type food orders following recipes. Take food orders and send them to the kitchen for preparation. Serve food and alcoholic drinks, receive payments, operate a cash register, and give change.
• 10% 3. Clean equipment in the kitchen and service counter area. Wash dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and flatware. Clean meat slicer according to instructions. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Dispose of food waste and trash.
• 5% 4. Prepare Daily Activity Report for cash receipt documentation at the end of the shift and deposit monies in the drop safe.
• 5% 5. Secure the building at close of business in the absence of management.
• 5% 6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

• Must pass all applicable records and background check.
• Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Starting May 7, 2025, non‑affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL‑ID‑compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, and push or pull objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds.
• Must be available nights and weekends.
