Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is seeking a food service worker to support patient meals and cafeteria operations. The role includes simple food preparation, tray assembly and delivery, ware washing, and inventory tasks within a hospital environment.

The position requires the ability to read, speak, and comprehend English; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required, and a Food Handlers card must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

• Perform duties related to food service for hospital patients including simple food preparation and serving.

• Prepare and deliver late trays and supplemental feedings to nursing units.
• Take inventory and deliver floor stock to nursing units.
• Serve food or assist in the preparation of bakery products, salads, and grilled foods for patients and/or cafeteria.
• May operate cash registers as needed.
