About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members in a correctional facility's food service operation. This includes preparing and serving food according to menus and work instructions, utilizing food preparation equipment, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
2. Prepare and assist in food preparation following recipes and instructions.
3. Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food.
4. Serve food according to schedule and policies.
5. Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly.
6. Follow food safety regulations.
7. Train other food service workers.
8. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
9. Adhere to uniform policies.
10. Manage waste and keep the kitchen environment clean.
11. Ensure proper portioning and serving utensils.
12. Promote a safe work environment.
13. Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in institutional or restaurant food service is a plus but not required.
