Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Food Service Worker to serve meals inside the Chesapeake City Jail. The role requires handling foods per menus with strict sanitation and safety standards, working on-site, and reporting to the Food Service Director.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience, 18+ years of age.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in quality food prep per menu/work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and assist with cleaning tasks.
• Serve food according to meal schedules and procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook per recipes.
• Follow all sanitation and food handling regulations.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, stay organized and clean.
• Stand, lift, bend, kneel, and move during shifts as required.
• Other duties as needed by the unit.

About This Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Chesapeake City Jail.

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.

• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.

• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.

• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.

• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.

• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.

• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.

• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
