SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of food service tasks including meal assembly, meal delivery, dishwashing, and handling of metal ware.
Pay starting at: $15.59 or higher based on experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and clean the tray line assembly area, including hot and cold food items, silverware, dishes, napkins, salads, desserts, breads, and beverages.
- Prepare work stations by stocking food and non-food items and equipment as necessary.
- Operate on assembly tray line stations, reading tray tickets to provide correct food items.
- Load trays onto delivery carts.
- Remove soiled trays from patient units, and transport trays to and from patient and customer areas.
- Operate elevator to deliver and pick up carts at patient care units and outpatient clinics.
- Transport food service supplies to patient rooms and outpatient clinics as needed.
- Deliver meals to patients' bedsides, assisting with needs and resolving concerns.
- Communicate using portable telephones to ensure patient needs are met.
- Operate dishwashers, clean equipment, and sanitize kitchen areas and utensils.
- Prepare simple foods like sandwiches and salads as required.
- Maintain records such as tray delivery and pick-up schedules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to six months of on-the-job training or previous experience preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, and perform math calculations.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods, up to 100% of the workday.
- Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail and concentration for up to 50% of the work time.
- Effective communication skills with staff, department personnel, and patients.
