Job summary

Compass Group USA's Chartwells Higher Ed team is hiring for a full-time Food Service Utility role at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. You will maintain kitchen work areas, keep equipment clean, and support front-of-house setup.

Schedule may vary with operational needs. Prior food service and utility experience is preferred. Pay is $17.60–$18.20 per hour, with benefits for full-time staff.

• Sweep and mop floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and dispose of it in designated containers.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
• Assist with loading, unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Summary: Maintains kitchen work areas, and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweeps and mops floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it into designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
