Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Food Service Worker I (FSW-I) to handle non-cooking duties including dishwashing, cold prep, salad production, serving, cashiering, tray passing, and general cleaning. This PRN position covers evenings/nights/weekends with a 12:30 pm–9 pm shift at Mercy Hospital St.

Louis, MO 63141. Preferred education is a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year in a service-related environment. English reading, writing and speaking skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of service-related experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work in direct contact with a variety of foods.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes and manage kitchen sanitation.
• Perform cold prep and salad production tasks.
• Serve, cashier, and tray passing duties.
• Load carts and assist with general cleaning and receiving.

Preferred Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Work Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a service-related environment/industry.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Maintains relationships with patients and customers to attain quality satisfaction of food.
• Is courteous, considerate, and cooperative when communicating with all patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
• Ability to work in direct contact with a variety of foods.
• Able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality).
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
