Job summary

The California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is hiring a Food Service Technician II (Safety). You will work under the Food Service Supervisor I in Nutrition Services to prepare and distribute meals, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.

You will perform duties to maintain order and comply with infection control, HACCP, and patient rights in a secure hospital setting. Eligible candidates include those on certification lists, with transfer or reinstatement eligibility.

Job Description And Duties

The Food Service Technician II will be directed by the Food Service Supervisor I and/or the Supervising Cook I in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Instruct, lead, coordinate, and participate in the preparation and distribution of food and beverages.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Adhere to the requirements for infection control and food safety/Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned area of responsibility.
• Adhere to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, a non-hostile work environment, and rights of patients.
